idolize
american idol often makes grandiose self-proclamations and i must admit i haven't been too impressed with the past seasons. ultimately, the AI winner is always deserving...but the selections haven't been as inspiring as those i've seen tonight. i was tearful on more than one occasion, the night before the almost-top-24....and was even more impressed as i was reminded of how much music can really move me.
the new elimination process during hollywood week this season is genius....they got rid of that stupid group performance that did nothing but propagate drama. it was awesome that they were given the option to play an instrument for their first performance. it was awesome that they were given a second chance so that they wouldn't dismiss anyone immediately. it was awesome that they got to choose their own song and sing it with a real band and backup singers. it was just awesome.
i'm really excited to see the final walks tonight and i'm wondering if there's gonna be a way for me to schedule my lunches at 2pm so that i can vote when the crunch time comes. i'm kidding, seriously.
