after the party
last night was a hit...i went to bed and was told that the last people went home at 4am. but of course this doesn't include junior who spent the night and went home at 1230 today. i was too busy to take photos and was actually on my feet until i made the second batch of red rice at about 9pm. i'd have to give it to joie and chris for conjuring up such a great idea. we decided to have 2 tables of food and make the non-spam dishes the primary helpings for the night. the spam table was merely there for sampling and there was surely much to be sampled. we had spicy spam rolls, spam tamales, spam mac n cheese, broccoli spam casserole, spam rangoons, spam sushi in 2 versions, and spam chili. both my contributions were a hit but of course i was exempt from being able to win. i added raw ramen noodles to my typhoon spam recipe from my previous entry and i even had to make 2 batches to keep 'em coming. and even my crazy chocolate spam truffles were well-received. i also mixed up a cocktail that became an instant hit....Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, Mango Juice, and Grenadine!! I had 4 of these, a bloody mary (of course!!) and a shot of Hennessey. You can tell that the Henn came last because I would have to have been quite inebriated to agree to take that. But not quite...because it was just Half and it didn't even really hit me. I guess next time I'll push the envelope further. I ended my night by watching Jim and Pam clips of The Office on YouTube. My lovely friend suggested it on her blog and she was right...I did become hooked! That's 24 clips at about 10 minutes each....loved it!
