as i've said before summer is the time to find a gem amongst all the crappy filler programming and reruns out there. but alas there is Rescue Me and now Project Runway to make me feel like i'm not wasting time in front of TiVo. this season's project runway is as intriguing as usual but i'm also noticing how huge this show has gotten. all the marketing....all the commercials....heidi's wardrobe changes...and now the Emmy nominations. all of this attention is worthy of course but i am always impartial to things motivated by marketing...which is undoubtedly the underlying reason for everything wonderful in life that we pay for. my favored to win people are Michael and Allison so i'll just hang tight.
there's been a lot of talk amongst fans on TWOP that the season is by far the most talented cast...and i am not immediately inclined to believe so. there are a lot of questionable people thrown into the mix. of course of immediate interest to me is Laura, the architect. but she is the architect i do not wish to eminate in some respects. she has intelligence and posseses high style but i find her predictable and safe at times. i am looking for her to use a vibrant color palette, patterns, and to let go of fur. she wears classic colors like black and white and bright red lipstick. i guess this personal style should not automatically be associated with her profession. she is extremely detailed, creative, and skilled at constructing her garments. i like michael for his unique cuts, interesting details, and hip sense of style. i like alison for her visionary designs and most especially for her sweet personality.
